    Responsibilities include full lifecycle development/maintenance of existing sites as well as participation in the re-architecture, redesign/coding of the new eCommerce architecture. Additional responsibilities include on-going technical support for our eCommerce applications, research into new and existing technologies, migration of code/data to production, etc.

    Qualified candidates should possess a combined 2-4 years of experience in the following areas: Application Development with .Net Framework (ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#), web site development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS), Object Oriented Design principles, relational database skills using SQL Server, experience with eCommerce applications and a working knowledge of Windows 2000 Server and IIS.     Summary: The VP IT reports to the President/COO, dotted line to the EVP of IT at Guitar Center. The VP IT directs, plans, organizes and controls all activities of the IT department and ensures effective, efficient and secure operation of all automated data processing systems. This position is responsible for constantly improving enterprise productivity by executing the design, implementation, administration and monitoring of best practice business systems programs and policies relating to all phases of the business. The VP IT will work in collaboration with GTRC (the enterprise) Shared Services IT organization. Additionally, the VP IT is a strong leader who can hire, develop and motivate a staff of IT professionals. The VP IT is strategic and tactical and will have experience in leading edge technology that will take MF into the future.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    ·Establishes an influential and partnering role with leaders throughout the enterprise including an emphasis on understanding how high-level business functions run and how to recommend IT solutions to meet those needs
    ·Takes a genuine interest in the business and has a strong business acumen
    ·Plays a strategic and tactical role in developing, implementing, and managing best practices in all IT functions
    ·Designs and implements an integrated international systems infrastructure
    ·Coaches and leads IT team in execution of their corporate, division and field support roles
    ·Provides information management services for the company to maximize the effectiveness of data collection, processing, and reporting
    ·Coordinates efforts to understand synergistic benefits and implement those solutions at the division level
    ·Is responsible for the development, communication, and management of the IT budget and cost control
    ·Assists and leads the IT aspects of Merger and Acquisition integration of new businesses to ensure the success of the combined entities and implementation of best practices throughout
    ·Develops and maintains strong relationships with outside vendors
    ·Defines user information requirements by conferring with users and analyzing functions
    ·Recommends, designs, develops and implements comprehensive, computer based information systems to ensure user needs are met
    ·Ensures data is processed according to internal and external user specifications and requirements
    ·Recommends and develops computer-based business solutions
    ·Act as liaison between hardware and software suppliers and management for informational updates and problem resolution
    ·Plans system applications and assigns staff to develop, test and complete programs
    ·Evaluates effectiveness of programs and offers solutions to enhance effectiveness
    ·Prepares and maintains technical specifications and related documentation to secure procedures and prevent system failure
    ·Responsible for overseeing the development of and execution of the company\'s disaster recovery plan
    ·Negotiates with vendors on behalf of the company to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions
    ·Ensures hardware and software is maintained and data is secured through proper back-ups and staff training
    ·Assists in the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of written IT policies and procedures regarding all computer operations in the MIS Department and throughout the division
    ·Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively
    ·Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance

    Management Responsibilities
    Manages a staff of 55 IT Associates and VPIT at WWBW in accordance with company standards and applicable laws. This position is responsible for their direction, coordination, performance and evaluation. Consults and partners with People Services (HR) to build a strong and effective team. Indirectly works with other IT division teams to deliver necessary business and enterprise initiatives to meet the company and department goals.

    Other Qualifications
    ·BS/BA in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience
    ·Excellent, demonstrated people management skills and experience with the ability to motivate and develop Associates and the strength to take action to build a strong, effective team
    ·Requires 10 plus years managing a staff with 5 or more years management experience in the internet industry required
    ·Requires the experience aligning business strategy with IT initiatives
    ·Executive with the proven ability to build and execute short and long term strategic plans
